Asian Cup 2011: Kuwait Star Bader Al-Mutwa Says Red Card Changed The Game Against China

Kuwait's star forward Bader Al-Mutwa had no doubt that the red card shown to teammate Mesaed Al Enezi was the deciding factor in his team's 2-0 defeat to China in their Asian Cup opener.

The former Malaga trialist told Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, "The defeat was unexpected and it clear that the red card had an impact on us.

"We had a lot of opportunities and did well, putting a lot of pressure on the Chinese, but the expulsion of Fahad meant that we had to play for 60 minutes with ten men, and that's not easy."

Kuwait will face opening day winners Uzbekistan on the 12th before ending the group stage against hosts Qatar four days later.

Al-Mutwa said of the upcoming challenges, "We still have the chance to progress if we compensate for tonight in the next two games.

"The team put in a good performance today, but a numerical disadvantage takes its toll, especially against a team with a great reputation."
