Carragher backs Liverpool to return to top-four

The Reds finished eighth last season, a staggering 21 points behind eventual champions Leicester City, but have been backed to return to the Champions League this term


Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool will return to the top-four this season - at the expense of Leicester City.

The Reds finished eighth in the Premier League last season, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, as they adapted to life under Jurgen Klopp following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.

Klopp's men ultimately finished 21 points behind fairytale title-winners Leicester, but Carragher believes that the Reds can return to the Champions League this season, as they prepare for a season free from the distractions of European football.
