Did Riquelme mean to score this beauty?

Juan Roman Riquelme scored an absolute beauty to help Boca Juniors reach the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores at Corinthians' expense - but did he actually intend to score the cracking goal or was it intended to be a cross?

The Argentine visitors on Wednesday held a 1-0 lead heading into the last-16 second leg and Riquelme's goal after 25 minutes put them ahead against the defending champions.

Corinthians goalkeeper Cassio Ramos did not have a chance at saving the rocket from the veteran midfielder, which left the Brazilians needing at least three goals to progress to the last eight.

Paulinho's 51st-minute header levelled proceedings on the night but the goal was not enough to salvage the tie as the game ended 1-1 and the aggregate result 2-1.

Do you think Riquelme meant to shoot when he fired into the top left-hand corner against Corinthians? Or was it intended as a cross but came off far better than the former Barcelona player could have imagined? Vote in the poll and share your thoughts in the comment section below!
