The Argentina forward turned out for his friend and international team-mate in a match to raise funds for disabled children in his homeland

Barcelona star Lionel Messi joined a number of Argentina's top players in a charity match organised by Inter captain Javier Zanetti.

Zanetti called on his famous friends to raise money for his charity, Pupi Foundation, which assists disabled and impoverished children in Argentina.

Youngsters from the foundation played in sides led by Zanetti and Liverpool midfielder Maxi Rodriguez, whose own charity supports single mothers.

Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain and Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero also took part in the match, which the 'Friends of Pupi' side lost 8-6 to the 'Friends of Maxi'.
