Individual Match Highlights Of Samuel Eto'o & Philippe Coutinho (Inter - Werder Bremen)

The most accomplished victory in the Champions League this week came at the San Siro, where Inter thumped Werder Bremen 4-0. The holders looked irresistible, and Samuel Eto'o earned the lion's share of the plaudits, netting a hat-trick and earning the assist as Wesley Sneijder notched the other.

Eto'o was simply deadly as he took all three goals with lethal precision. Still fast, still lean, and still under 30 years of age, Eto’o showed again on Wednesday that he has not lost the attributes that made him a great finisher with Barcelona.

After the match the Cameroonian also took a swipe at former boss Jose Mourinho. "I'm happy to win as a striker after winning as a defender last season," Eto'o said. "This is a victory for the whole team, though. The side played very well, even if we had important players missing, and the youngsters really impressed."

Also earning rave reviews for Inter was Brazilian teenager Philippe Coutinho, who sparkled on his first appearance in the Champions League.

Stationed on the left wing, the bouchy-haired Coutinho looked to come into the middle on every occasion and open up the play, showing tremendous awareness, ball skills and general workrate to the overriding team cause. The 18-year-old could have scored several goals had things fallen his way, but in the end he couldn't find a way past Bremen keeper Tim Weise.
