Real Betis-Sevilla Betting Preview: Why backing both teams to score should see punters profit

Our man in Spain, Phil Kitromilides, argues that the fiery atmosphere of a Seville derby should almost certainly mean goals at both ends
This year's world famous Seville carnival, a five day explosion of Andalusian hedonism, has quite the prelude as the city's two football teams meet on Friday.

The carnival does not officially begin until Monday yet with such an occasion preceding it, a victory for either side will surely see half of the city initiate the festivities prematurely and for Betis this match carries an extra significance.

Back in November, Sevilla humiliated their neighbors in a 5-1 demolition which only partially tells the story of just how superior they were. The Rojiblancos could have scored 10. In the first half.

Betis then will be desperate to continue their push for a European place with a win but almost more important than the points is restoring their pride, for Seville is a city where honour is a serious business.

Coral offer a home win at 13/8 (2.63) with Sevilla offered at the same price and the draw available at 9/4 (3.25). A draw between the two sides is priced at 9/4 (3.25).

If the bookies cannot split the two sides then we have no need to attempt to do so either and instead, focus should be turned to the goals market.

In Alvaro Negredo and Ruben Castro respectively the two sides boast the highest-scoring Spaniards in La Liga, and in the furious atmosphere of a Derbi Sevillano there should be goals at both ends.

Both teams to score is offered at 4/6 (1.65) and while usually we look for prices bigger than that, this appears to be such a nailed on selection that it is impossible to ignore.

Sevilla have failed to score only once in their last 13 matches, while Betis who are currently in seventh place have scored at home against every team above them in the table.

Imaginative this bet is not, profitable is should almost certainly be.

For a value bet, try backing both teams to score in the first half at 7/2 (4.50) which has paid out in two of the last three derbies.
