QPR - Tottenham Betting Preview: Villas-Boas' attacking instincts to provide another high-scoring away day

The hosts will be in good spirits after their fantastic 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge, but Al Hain-Cole thinks their defence may struggle against a scintillating attacking outfit
After pulling off one of the shocks of the season by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their last league game, QPR will hope to spring another surprise when they play host to Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

They will not have it easy against Andre Villas-Boas’ side though, as the visitors are currently on a four-match winning streak, and have only lost once in their last 12.

Understandably, Spurs are favourites at 5/6 (1.83) with Bet365 to continue this fine form with a victory at Loftus Road.

The Hoops may take confidence from the fact they beat their London rivals in the corresponding fixture last season, but they are still unfancied at 10/3 (4.33) to put in a repeat performance and pick up three massive points this time.

These two teams have not shared the spoils in the last six encounters, but you can get odds of 13/5 (3.60) on that run coming to an end with a draw here.

Villas-Boas’ penchant for attacking football is well documented, and his philosophy seems to be taking root in his players at White Hart Lane.

His gung-ho style has led to some particularly exciting games on the road this season, as Spurs’ 10 Premier League away games have provided a crowd-pleasing 38 goals.

A bet on over 2.5 goals to be scored would have paid out in every one of those 10 matches, so that market offers unmissable value at odds of 8/11 (1.73) in this game.

It is no coincidence that Tottenham’s rise to serious top four contenders over the past few years has coincided with Gareth Bale’s evolution into one of Europe’s most devastating attacking players.

The Wales winger is integral to everything that Spurs create going forward, and he seems to be improving all the time, having already equalled his Premier League goal tally from last season.

With four goals in his last three games, the 23-year-old looks like a great bet at 11/2 (6.50) to open the scoring on Saturday.
