Sampdoria - PSV Special: Must Win Game For The Blucerchiati

There are plenty of games in the the UEFA Europa League tonight but few have as much riding them as Sampdoria versus PSV Eindhoven. After missing out on the Champions League in pre-season the Serie A side have to win to maintain their chances of European football after Christmas.

PSV top Group I and a draw will confirm their passage to the knock out stages. Eredivisie leaders PSV have taken 10 points so far but come into the game following a surprise 4-2 defeat at NAC Breda.

Holland's leading goalscorers, with a whopping 45 already from 16 games, have never won in Italy in 19 attempts. Sampdoria have only lost once in their last 16 European games at the Marassi.

Goals are pretty much expected with PSV and they have found the net in their last five European games. Domestically eleven of their 16 matches have gone over 2.5 goals.

Sampdoria have yet to convince in the Europa League, recording just a solitary win over Debrecen. Curiously, in the three Europa League matches that Sampdoria have scored in their goal has been the first of the match.

Blucerchiati forward Giampaolo Pazzini is anticipating a cracking game telling the media:"Games like this tonight against PSV always offer great spectacle. We want to go forward in this competition as it would show pride for us and the fans."
