Spanish Cumpleanos: Santiago Urquiaga

1958: Santiago Urquiaga: Basque born defender Urquiaga came through the ranks at Athletic Bilbao and made his first team debut with los Leones in 1979. At right back Urquiaga was a vital part of the Bilbao team that won back to back league titles in 1983 and 1984 as well as Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercopa success in '84. He was capped 14 times by Spain and was a first team member as Spain finished runner-up to France in the 1984 European Championship. After 255 league appearances for Bilbao in eight years Urquiaga joined Espanyol where he played until retirement in 1989.
