Following a day in which Rio Ferdinand, Didier Drogba and Andrea Pirlo were all struck down with injury, there was relief for Brazil coach Dunga after it was revealed that Michel Bastos’ knock in training was not a concern.
"We don’t expect any problems [with Bastos]," Brazilian football confederation spokesman Rodrigo Paiva told the press today after Bastos limped out of training.
The Lyon winger, who plays at left full-back for his country, hit the floor in pain after colliding with team-mate Elano and eventually hobbled out of the session.
The only other injury problem for the Selecao is that of Julio Cesar who injured his lower back in the friendly against Zimbabwe, however the Brazilian media report that the Inter ‘keeper should return to full training in a few days time.
"It was nothing to worry about,” said Brazil’s team doctor Jose Luiz Runco.
