Welcome to's regular feature: World Player of the Week. Each week our worldwide team of editors will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by International, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday. It won't necessarily be the best player in the world - at least not usually - but whoever we nominate will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention... World Player of the Week #131: Roda Antar
Club: Shandong Luneng
Country: Lebanon
Inspired his nation to victory over South Korea

Lebanon registered a shocking 2-1 win against South Korea in the third phase of qualification for the 2014 World Cup finals in the Asian zone in Beirut on Tuesday, and at the heart of this extraordinary triumph was Roda Antar.

The Shandong Luneng midfielder was involved in the first goal as it was his blocked shot that Ali Al Saadi eventually lashed home after five minutes.

Antar continued to pose problems for the Koreans and on 65 minutes came close to etching his name on the scoresheet when his header came off the woodwork.

The victory means that Lebanon now only need a draw against the UAE to book their place in the fourth stage of qualification.

The result sparked wide-scale celebrations in the country, leading the nation’s Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, to take to Twitter and enthuse: "Delighted and proud of our national football team. Congrats to all."

Congratulations to Roda Antar,'s 131st World Player of the Week!

Enam Mendomo Alexis - Club Africain

Club Africain secured a vital 1-0 win over Maghreb Fes in the Caf Confederation Cup final first-leg thanks to an early strike from Enam Mendomo Alexis.
