World Cup 2010: We Did Not Play Well, But We Deserved To Win - Spain Coach Vicente Del Bosque

Speaking to the Spanish press moments after Spain defeated Paraguay in the World Cup quarter-finals to face Germany in the semi-final, La Roja coach Vicente del Bosque was on hand to express his thoughts on his team's performance.

In comments reported by Marca, Del Bosque acknowledged that his team did not play up to snuff, but that their progression to the semi-finals was merited. "We did not play well, but we also did a few things well. Paraguay should be given credit. We did deserve to win and we had our chances."

Recognising the joys of the moment, Del Bosque said simply, "We have reason to be happy." But the Spanish coach also warned of Germany's ability: "They are the best national team at the moment. We will leave our hearts and souls on the pitch."
