New Zealand coach Ricki Herbert has praised his team's never-say-die attitude, as the claimed a 1-1 draw against Slovakia.

Herbert says the All Whites have a chance to progress to the next phase of the tournament.

"I think the nation will be in reasonably good spirits tonight," Herbert told The Times. "We keep on dreaming.

"We have a chance like everyone else."

"It would have to be the best achievement. We have never picked up a point at a World Cup.

"We have thrown some really good punches today and got what I thought was an extremely good result," he concluded.
