World Cup 2010: Paraguay Coach Gerardo Martino Content With Performance Against Italy

The tactician says his players had a role and stuck to it...
Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino has praised his side's organisational skills against defending champions Italy, as the South Americans battled to a 1-1 draw.

Goals from Antolin Alcaraz and Daniele De Rossi meant that the points were shared.

"We started to think of what every player needed to do, and do well," Martino told ABC Color after the match. "Every player had a role to play.

"It is a difficult task to begin against the World Champions, but we were good. The side was very organised. We played the second half further back, so we could defend better.

"It was the first match of our World Cup campaign, and we had high expectations," he concluded.

Paraguay will face Slovakia next on June 20.
