World Cup 2010: Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben & Mark Van Bommel Train On Rest Day

Only seven Dutchmen were asked to train on Friday, amongst them a handful of top stars...
While the vast majority of the Netherlands squad rested on Friday, head coach Bert van Marwijk instructed those players who have not trained much, such as Champions League finalists Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Mark van Bommel, to work out.

“We decided at the last moment to make a small meeting with those who have not trained much,” the coach confirmed to the AFP news agency.

The three players were all granted several days' rest after the Champions League final last Saturday evening, before joining up with the squad earlier this week.

Additionally, Ryan Babel and Nigel de Jong, who have both been struggling with slight physical complaints, were involved, as were goalkeepers Sander Boschker and Michel Vorm.

Currently in Austria to train at high altitude before the tournament begins on June 11, the Netherlands have friendlies against Ghana (June 1, Rotterdam) and Hungary (June 5, Amsterdam) to play before meeting Denmark in Soccer City on June 14.
