Montenegro earned their first victory in Group 8 with a 2-1 win against Georgia in Podgorica thanks to goals from Radoslav Batak and Andrija Delibasic. Vladimir Dvalishvili found the net for the visitors.
It is Montenegro's first ever win in a qualifying campaign, as they did not participate in the qualifiers for Euro 2008, and they started brightly in the first half.
The hosts won a free kick in the 13th minute, and Batak scored from close range to give Zoran Filipovic's team the lead.
Just before the break, Georgia found a fortuitous equaliser as 'keeper Vukasin Poleksic was unable to keep out a deflected shot, credited to Maccabi Haifa striker Dvalishvili.
Montenegro were not to be denied the win, which came from a mistake by experienced defender Kakha Kaladze. Delibasic pounced on the mistake, and steered the ball past Giorgi Lomaia.
The win moves Montenegro, who were missing Mirko Vucinic through injury, onto eight points in Group 8. Georgia are languishing on just three points and without a win with just one game to go.
