Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini believes striker Fabrizio Miccoli deserves a call up to the Italy national team.
Miccoli, 30, has not featured for the Azzurri since 2004. The hitman has come a long way since then, and Zamparini has given him a vote of confidence. The president believes his man is good enough to represent the world champions.
"Miccoli in the national team? I would be very happy for the player," Zamparini told TRM Sport.
"I think he deserves the satisfaction of the national team.
"In any case the most important thing for me is that he doesn't forget the national team."
Miccoli has scored two goals this season in Serie A, and Palermo clash with Livorno next Sunday.
