Germany national coach Joachim Loew has announced his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers away against Russia on October 10 and at home against Finland four days later.
The Germans currently top the table in Group four with 22 points from eight matches. Rivals Russia have collected only one point less and will climb to first spot in the table if they beat Germany.
Loew has somewhat surprisingly opted to select Hamburger SV youngster Jerome Boateng for the first time. The versatile defender could make his official Germany debut on October 10 after some impressive performances this campaign.
Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack is the only player in Loew's squad who's plying his trade abroad.
