VIDEO: Zouma's long road to recovery as he prepares to make Chelsea comeback

The Blues defender has spent 11 months out injured but will return to competitive action on Sunday against Peterborough United

Kurt Zouma is set to make his Chelsea comeback in a FA Cup match against Peterborough on Sunday as Antonio Conte gives his fringe players a chance against League One opposition.

The 22-year-old has been sidelined since tearing his anterior cruciate ligament against Manchester United in February 2016, but is ready to return after playing four matches for Chelsea's Under-23 squad.

Conte set to start Batshuayi

He has been training with the first team for the past two months and made the bench in some of Chelsea's December games, but was an unused substitute. Conte has confirmed he won't be looking to sign any central defenders in January as Zouma has convinced him to remain out of the market in the short term.

Zouma was a regular starter before his injury and this video featuring some exclusive footage and clips from Zouma's Instagram account offers an insight into how hard he has had to work to make his return.

Zouma has made 59 Chelsea appearances to date, and will be hoping to add to that tally with regular opportunities over the remainder of the 2016-17 campaign.
