Alexis good enough for Arsenal's 'Invincibles' team, says Lauren

Former Arsenal defender Lauren believes Alexis Sanchez could earn a place in the Gunners' famous ‘Invincibles’ team.

Lauren lined up at right-back alongside the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires as Arsenal won the Premier League title in 2003-04 without suffering a single defeat and says Alexis would merit a place in that XI.

Signed from Barcelona in July 2014 for a fee in the region of £35 million, the Chile star has netted 42 goals in two seasons and become a fans' favourite at the Emirates Stadium thanks to his never-say-die attitude.

"Straight away I would say Alexis Sanchez [would get into the 'Invincibles' team]," Lauren told Goal. "He’s the kind of player who gives 110 per cent in every single game.

"I think to achieve targets and success you need players like that. I like this type of player. You need charismatic figures within the Arsenal squad and he’s one of them."
