Victor Obinna Nsofor - Forward - Malaga - 25/03/1987

Obinna Nsofor has been a regular in the Super Eagles since he made his debut in late 2005. He scored his first goal in the Nations Cup quarter final game against Tunisia which the Nigerians eventually won by penalties.

Nsofor was captain of the Nigeria Olympic team that won a silver medal in Beijing 2008. He capped the tournament with crucial goals as he led the Dream Team IV to a successful tournament where they unfortunately lost to Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the final.

His move to Malaga on loan from Inter has served to rejuvenate his young career, enabling him to garner more playing time and he would want to use the World Cup. This all stems from the player's hopes of arriving at a bigger club in the elite class.

Did you know?

Obinna signed for Brazilian club Internacional but was never able to play for them because of international clearance problems before moving to Italy where he signed for Chievo.
