Roberto Mancini and Mario Balotelli were involved in a touchline spat as the Italian forward was substituted after just 30 minutes of Manchester City's pre-season friendly for showboating.

The 20-year-old had been put clean through on goal in City's friendly clash with LA Galaxy before attempting a backheeled shot, which missed the target.

Balotelli was subsequently substituted for his flamboyance and went on to protest to manager Mancini, who originally blanked the former Inter starlet as he stood on the touchline.

The former Inter player had already put City ahead through a penalty after Micah Richards was fouled in the area. The defender limped out of the challenge but was able to complete the half.
