Cedric Carrasso signs new Bordeaux deal until 2015

Carrasso has put pen to paper on a two-year extension to his current contract, taking the Frenchman's tenure until 2015
Bordeaux goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso has signed a two-year contract extension until 2015, as the 29-year-old is rewarded for his fine form amid a difficult campaign, the club's official website reports.

The 2009 Ligue 1 champions struggled to a disappointing eighth place in the table in 2010-11, but the keeper still managed to impress with a series of excellent displays, and Bordeaux have moved to tie him down on a longer-term deal.

The former Marseille shot-stopper signed from Toulouse in 2009, and made his name as a reliable presence between the sticks, performing well in the Champions League run in 2009-10 and in the league, where he saved two penalties against Montpellier last year.

Carrasso, who has been noted for his strong leadership qualities, was called up to France's disastrous 2010 World Cup campaign, but did not feature in the tournament.
