Andre Hahn comes into the side after scoring twice in Gladbach's win against Schalke and Julian Baumgartlinger was another Mainz player to catch the eye. The midfield is completed by two big-name summer arrivals: Xabi Alonso of Bayern and Dortmund's Shinji Kagawa, the latter marking his second BVB debut with a goal.
Hakan Calhanoglu was also on target for Leverkusen, while Raffael and Max Kruse both put Schalke to the sword.
