Leagues Today: Monaco relegated from Ligue 1

On each day with competitive matches in Europe's major leagues, Goal.com will bring you this quick and easy lowdown on the decisive moments. If a team's been relegated from the top flight, reached the Champions League or won the title today, here's where you find out. So stick with us between now and the end of the season to keep track of who's won what on the day in question.

When the league is completely decided - as in the case of Germany for example - the full outcome will be given. Otherwise updates are good for the day of publication only.

The leagues selected are the top 12 in UEFA's Access List for the current season, 2010-11.


England
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Manchester United won the league for a record 19th time.
  • Champions League: Chelsea and Manchester City qualified automatically for Europe's premier club competition. Arsenal will have to go through a qualifier.
  • Relegation: Birmingham City, Blackpool and West Ham United are the teams to go down to the Championship.
Spain
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Barcelona retained La Liga.
  • Champions League: Real Madrid and Valencia qualified for the Champions League group stage, with Villarreal having to make their way through the play-offs for non-champions.
  • Relegation: Almeria, Hercules and Deportivo La Coruna have suffered the drop to the Segunda Division. Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano have been promoted and will be joined by the winner of the play-offs.
Italy 
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: AC Milan won the Scudetto for the first time since 2004.
  • Champions League: Inter and Napoli qualified automatically for Europe's premier club competition. Udinese finished fourth and will play a qualifying tie.
  • Relegation: Bari, Brescia and Sampdoria are relegated to Serie B. Atalanta and Siena have gained promotion and will be joined by the winner of the play-offs.
Germany
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Borussia Dortmund won the Bundesliga.
  • Champions League: Bayer Leverkusen finished second and confirmed automatic qualification to the Champions League, leaving Bayern Munich to take the third spot.
  • Relegation: St. Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt are relegated from the top flight. Borussia Monchengladbach retained their place following a 2-1 aggregate victory over Bochum in the relegation play-off. Hertha Berlin and Augsburg clinched the two automatic promotion spots from the 2.Bundesliga.
France
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Lille are Ligue 1 champions.
  • Champions League: Marseille secured second place and an automatic berth in the Champions League group stage. Lyon finished third and will enter the play-off round.
  • Relegation: Arles, Lens and Monaco are relegated.
Russia
  • Not Applicable: Russian season runs March 2011 - May 2012 and thus has only just begun.
Ukraine
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Shakhtar Donetsk retained their title.
  • Champions League: Dinamo Kiev finish runners-up and will take part in the play-offs.
  • Relegation: Sevastopol and Metalurh Zaporizhya drop out of the top flight.
Netherlands
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Ajax won the Eredivisie after a 3-1 home victory over Twente.
  • Champions League: Twente will enter the third qualifying round.
  • Relegation: Willem II are automatically relegated to the second division. Excelsior and VVV-Venlo will remain in the Dutch top flight after winning their respective relegation play-offs.
Romania
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Otelul Galati became champions by four points after five straight wins at the end of the season.
  • Champions League: FC Timisoara go into the qualifiers after clinching second place by one point over Vaslui.
  • Relegation: Former Champions League participants Unirea Urziceni go down along with Victoria Branesti, Sportul Studentesc and Universitatea Craiova.
Portugal
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Porto clinched their 25th title as they went through the entire league campaign unbeaten.
  • Champions League: Benfica go into the qualifying path for non-champions.
  • Relegation: Portimonense and Naval drop down to the second tier. They will be replaced by two from Feirense, Gil Vicente and Trofense.
Turkey
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Fenerbahce won the league for a record 18th time.
  • Champions League: Trabzonspor finished second in the table and will enter the third qualifying round.
  • Relegation: Bucaspor, Konyaspor and Kasimpasa are relegated to the second division.
Greece
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Olympiacos are the regular season champions and will enter the Champions League. (Link)
  • Champions League: Panathinaikos topped the Super League play-offs and will enter the qualifying round of Europe's premier club competition.
  • Relegated: Panserraikos and Larissa are relegated. Iraklis have been forcibly demoted due to having no license for next season. Asteras Tripolis finished in the relegation zone and will most likely drop down as well. PAS Giannina, Panaitolikos and a play-off winner will join the top flight, as many as four teams, depending on the fate of Asteras Tripolis.
Scotland
  • REGULAR SEASON OVER
  • Champions: Rangers won the league title.
  • Champions League: Celtic qualify for the play-offs.
  • Relegation: Hamilton are relegated to the First Division and are replaced by Dunfermline.
