Inter Coach Leonardo Rues Missed Chances Against Bayern Munich

Leonardo struggles to accept Bayern defeat but maintains his side can still go through...
Inter coach Leonardo was left disappointed with his side's 1-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 but maintained the Italian champions could still qualify for the next stage of the competition.

Mario Gomez's late winner leaves Inter with a mountain to climb in Germany but the curtain isn't closed according to the Brazilian tactician.

"Bayern are a tough opponent who has had more of possession although we created so much. We had at least six goal-scoring opportunities," he told Italian media after the game.

"If you look at how we played, I think the team did well. I cannot blame the boys as it is untrue to say the team played badly.
We can win in the return game even if it will not be easy."

The Italian giants travel to Munich in three weeks time where they will be hoping to overturn the 1-0 goal deficit and progress to the quarter-finals of the competition they won last season.
