Leonardo expects his Inter side to fight like European champions when they take on Bayern Munich in Wednesday's last 16 first leg showdown at San Siro.
The game has been billed as a revenge battle for Bayern, who lost last year's final in Madrid to the Nerazzurri.
But Leonardo feels they won't get the chance as Inter aim to back up their 2010 winners' tag and add momentum to this season's attempt at defending their crown.
He expects attacking football, despite having just two strikers available.
"I like the offensive mentality of the Champions League," he told the press.
"This competition unifies many great players, great teams with big objectives, and this means there is a will to play, rather than contain.
"This team are the reigning champions, and we can fight against any team. We will fight with all our strengths as we have the strength to cope with difficulty, and this makes us feel strong.
"We will play like a champion team."
However, Leonardo did concede that he expects a backlash from Bayern.
"Inter and Bayern both have resources to play in any minute and they are capable of playing each other on the same level," he said.
"Every game is different, and of course, the best players will be on the pitch.
"We arrive for the game with high motivation, and as for Bayern's weaknesses, every team has them."
"Inter are always Inter, and Bayern are always Bayern, but we want to win."
Inter's 21-man squad for the game is also confirmed.
