Jose Mourinho has asked Real Madrid to join him in believing they can sign Inter hitman Samuel Eto'o.
El Mundo Deportivo claims Mourinho is searching for a striker following Gonzalo Higuain's back injury. The Argentinian striker is expected to be back next month, leaving the club to ponder a January move.
The 'Special One' named Eto'o as his first choice, the news coming just days after Madrid were linked with Diego Milito, whose season has been slanted downward.
Mourinho wants champion players in his team, and Eto'o fits the bill. At Inter he got the best out of the Cameroon ace, who was influential in their treble-winning run.
However, such a move is unlikely in January as president Massimo Moratti and Inter have no intention to sell their man.
