Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola Content With Draw In Russia

Pep Guardiola is satisfied with Barcelona's stalemate against Rubin.
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is pleased with the 1-1 draw against Rubin Kazan in Group D of the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Blaugrana went 1-0 down in the first-half thanks to a Christian Noboa spot-kick but equalised on the hour mark when David Villa found the target from the penalty spot.

Guardiola is happy with the point gained in Russia and believes that his side were up against a very defensive Rubin team.

"I'm happy with the performance of the players," Guardiola is quoted as saying by Barca's official website. "We had enough chances to win the game."

The Catalan added that Rubin "played very well defensively" and when probed on the introduction of Lionel Messi in the second-half said, "he will try to continue making progress in his recovery. We are happy that he has returned."
