Barcelona Fans Attack Inter Coach Jose Mourinho - Report

Inter coach Jose Mourinho was left stunned and shaken after Barcelona fans attacked the vehicle he was travelling in on Tuesday night, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Mourinho got into a vehicle laid on by UEFA following his pre-match press conference, but he did not get very far.

A group of Barcelona fans waiting outside marauded down the street and caught up with the car.

Once there, they started to spit and kick at it, punching windows, throwing cans, bottles and cigarette packets as the coach looked on from inside.

At one point, fans on both sides of the vehicle started to rock it in an attempt to topple it over onto its side.

Luckily, the local police were quick to intervene and they dispersed the crowd, leaving a stunned Mourinho to proceed with his journey.

It was the second attack within hours, after a previous one when Inter players were heckled at the airport.

Security has been stepped up with bodyguards stationed at every entrance and exit of the Inter team hotel.
