Inter Striker Diego Milito: We Are Determined To Defeat Barcelona In The Champions League

Inter striker Diego Milito has told the press that the Nerazzurri are relishing the chance to end the club's long drought for the Champions League trophy. The Beneamata face the holders Barcelona in the semi-finals of the competition.

"Inter are a great team, that have been missing European success for a long time," he said to uefa.com.

"The fans want this and we are determined to do well. It will not be an easy tie, but we will certainly do our best to succeed."

Blaugrana star and Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has been in excellent form as of late, bagging four goals against Arsenal and also scoring in El Clasico.

"Leo is number one, he is truly immense. It's great to play alongside him [with Argentina], it happened to me in Poland, it was a great joy," hailed Milito.

"He has grown a lot, as a player and as a person. In Argentina, a lot is expected from him at the World Cup and he is learning to better manage the pressure."

A sub-plot to the clash with the Blaugrana will revolve around Samuel Eto'o, who will be going up against his former club. The player was involved in a swap deal this past summer with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"He's the perfect companion, everyone wants to play with him and he's also a great person who behaves the same way in the locker room," he explained regarding the Cameroon international.

"He's an ambitious man and a champion who is hungry. It's an honour to play with him."
