Arjen Robben To Travel With The Bayern Munich Squad To Manchester

German giants Bayern Munich have been given a major boost ahead of their clash with English powerhouse Manchester United in the second leg of their quarterfinal tie in the Champions League at Old Trafford as it's been confirmed that Arjen Robben will travel with the squad to Manchester on Tuesday morning.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger missed the first leg due to a muscle problem and also sat out Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Schalke in the German Bundesliga.

It was speculated on Sunday that the 26-year-old might have to sit out the second leg on Wednesday and Bayern coach Louis van Gaal himself didn't make any concrete statement on the status of the Dutch international winger.

However, the official website of the German club has now reported that Robben has been "cleared to travel with the squad on Tuesday morning when the FCB party sets off for the Champions League quarter-final return away to Manchester United."

There is further good news for the Bavarians as Daniel van Buyten too has been given the green signal. The Belgian defender suffered a knee injury on Saturday against Schalke and had to be taken off after just 22 minutes. Like Robben, the 32-year-old centre-back too will be part of the Bavarian squad that sets off for Manchester on Tuesday morning.

However, it has not been confirmed whether Robben will feature at Old Trafford or not. The former PSV player didn't train with the squad on Sunday and along with Van Buyten will report to Sabener Strasse for further medical examination. It's been reported that coach Louis van Gaal will decide whether to play the duo only on Wednesday before the match.
