Player Ratings: Olympiacos 0-1 Bordeaux

Les Girondins grabbed a vital away goal to give them the advantage for the second leg. gives the report card of the players who featured in Athens...

Nikopolidis: 6.5 -
The veteran looked shaky from crosses early on and will be furious at the marking which led to the away goal. Too eager to punch in an average display.

Torosidis: 6 -
Did what was required as Olympiacos were able to keep their visitors at bay until Ciani's late first half winner. Rarely strayed into the opposition half.

A.Papadopoulous: 6.5 -
Made some good challenges throughout and earned a booking for a late tackle on Chamakh in the second half.

Mellberg: 7.5 -
The Swedish veteran had a fine game and went close with a bullet header right at the start. Incisive in his tackling and put some manners on Gourcuff early on.

Raul Bravo: 6.5 -
Gave the ball away far too frequently but did redeem himself with a wonderful cross which deserved better from Enzo Maresca. It was the best thing the ex-Real Madrid man did all night.

Maresca: 5.5 -
Wasted a decent opportunity from a free kick and should have buried Bravo's excellent delivery when the goal was at his mercy.

Ledesma: 5 -
Rarely involved before being withdrawn with 25 minutes to go.

Stoltidis: 6.5 -
Used his experience to win his side some free kicks in good positions. Was also a threat in the air.

Lua Lua: 7 -
Struggled early on to really get to grips with the game as he tried his mazy dribbles. Was a different player once the Greeks played with two genuine strikers and fizzed with intent almost grabbing a late equaliser right at the death.

Mitroglou: 5.5 -
Identified as the danger man he was isolated up-front and looked a frustrated figure before making way for Matt Derbyshire.

Datolo: 6 -
Looked lively early on but spoiled his evening by going for glory with a free kick in a dangerous area which he whacked over the bar. Poor stuff.

Zairi: 5.5 - Did very little apart from earning a booking for a challenge on Chalme.

Derbyshire 6.5 -
Made a nuisance of himself as he replaced the ineffectual Mitroglou. Would have been nice to see him on earlier.

Carrasso: 7.5 -
Struggled a little with back-passes early on but made some wonderful stops at the death to ensure his side left Greece with a vital away win.

Chalme: 6.5 -
Sliced into Datolo to leave his mark on him and was consistent in his night's work at the back.

Planus: 6.5 -
Had little to do in truth as Olympiacos offered zero threat up front for most of the game.

Ciani: 7.5 -
You can't stop this guy scoring in Europe as he did the damage again with another header which he powered home with relish. Always a threat in the air and solid at the back too.

Tremoulinas: 6 -
Fairly quiet game and was lucky not to pick up a card of any sort for a dreadful two-footed tackle which escaped the gaze of Howard Webb.

Fernando: 6.5 -
Always confident on the ball and ready to show his range of passing when he had it. Rasped a stunner from distance to test Nikopolidis between the sticks in the first half.

Sane: 6.5 -
Picked up a harsh booking which made him cautious for the remainder of the game. Decent distribution.

Gourcuff: 7 -
Mocked by the French press recently, he wasn't on sparkling form but his delivery for Ciani's winner was superb and he looked more assertive in the second half.

Plasil: 7 -
Busy, busy, busy. Always involved, commanded the ball and wasn't afraid to have a crack given the opportunity.

Chamakh: 6.5 -
Not a vintage night for the in demand forward. Linked up well with Wendel and Plasil without ever really looking like scoring himself.

Wendel: 7 -
Never afraid to take on defenders he was a bright spark throughout if his finishing let him down on occasion.
