Rubin Kazan Midfielder Christian Noboa Rues Missed Chances Against Inter

The midfielder made it clear that Rubin could have done better against Inter...
Russian titleholders Rubin Kazan were beaten 2-0 by Inter on Wednesday evening and saw their Champions League adventure come to an end. Midfielder Christian Noboa felt like Rubin deserved more, but was satisfied with Europa League qualification nonetheless.

"It was a good match," Noboa told uefa.com. "I thought we played really well today but we're a bit angry with ourselves because 2-0 was not really a fair reflection of the game.

"Unfortunately we made two mistakes and they punished us. We had three or four chances to score but we failed to put them away and now Inter and Barcelona are through to the next round instead of us.

"If we had scored from [Alejandro] Domínguez, Gökdeniz Karadeniz or my opportunities then things would have been different but that's football. If you don't take your opportunities you get punished.

"We played good football this season and created some good chances. The fact we are in the Europa League is a good result for us and we must focus on doing well. If we approach the competition in the same way we will do well."
