Champions League Qualification Outcomes - The Knockout Stage Decided

Join Goal.com for a look at who's set to qualify for the next round of Europe's top competition...
Want to know who has qualified for the Champions League knock-out stage? You're in the right place. Here we look at the path to the last sixteen - who's scaled it, who's fallen off it, and who just missed out on it.

The top two teams qualify for the Round of 16, with clubs finishing top of their group enjoying a seeded place for that round of the knockout stage. Teams finishing third end up in the Europa League. Those who end up fourth exit European competition entirely.

The final sixteen have been decided:

  • Porto
  • CSKA
  • Milan
  • Barcelona
  • Inter
  • Lyon

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

On December 18th, the draw for the Knockout Stage of the Champions League takes place (LIVE on Goal.com.) Group winners are drawn from one pot to meet a group runner-up from the other. Teams from the same national association cannot be drawn together in the first knockout round.

The draw for the Europa League knockout stage takes place on the same day, featuring the eight teams that parachute down from the Champions League. The four teams with the highest coefficient are placed into pots with the group winners; the remaining four go into the pot with the runners-up. Again, in the first knockout round, there is country protection.
