Player Ratings: Atletico Madrid 2-2 Porto

Porto netted two crucial away goals in their first leg meeting with Atletico de Madrid in Vicente Calderon despite their keeper's clanger. Goal.com watched the game and gave each player a mark out of ten.
ATLETICO DE MADRID

Leo Franco 6
- Could have done little about either goal and was comfortable with anything else that came his way.

Seitaridis 5
- Moved forward when he could and helped there, but it was at the back where he was caught out far too often down the flank.

Antonio Lopez 6.5 - While Hulk may have complained a lot of the time, the Spanish full-back won the majority of his tussles with the bulky forward.

Ujfalusi 6
- Did better than his partner and did not show the same inconsistencies that meant that Porto looked likely to find a gap each time they went forward.

Pablo 5 - Had something of a shocker as he completely misjudged the ball in the air for the first goal and showed some very nervy touches after that.

Assuncao 7
- Looked calm on the ball and provided some telling passes as well as providing the hosts with some much-needed mobility in midfield.

Raul Garcia 6.5 - Showed some good touches with his passes and had one fizzing shot, but he also showed he can put the boot in with some tough tackles.

Simao 6.5
- His running was vital to Atletico's forward movements, but he could not beat the Porto defence on as many occasions as he would have liked.

Maxi 6 - Having opened the scoring he was unable to find another clear opening and the coach was right to take him off try something different.

Forlan 6.5 - A constant cause of problems for the visitors as he looked to provide chances for himself and his team-mates.

Aguero 6 - Laid on a superb pass for the opening goal, but was virtually anonymous after that and maybe the new arrival has been keeping him awake at night.

Subs

Pongolle 5 - Came on amid boos at Aguero having been replaced and was also unable to have much influence on the game.

Maniche 6
- Looked to create against his former side and did well to find space for a shot and to involve himself in midfield.

De La Cuevas 5
- Came on for Maxi in what proved to be another unpopular change among the fans, but not because he entered the encounter.

PORTO

Helton 4.5
- At this level a mistake of the magnitude that he made just before the break to let Atletico score is not good, but he retained his confidence.

Sapunaru 6
- Stepped in to replace Fucile after he was injured in the warm-up and did well until he too picked up a knock and had to go off.

Cissokho 6 - Moved forward when he could and his strong run and cross set up Porto's second goal of the evening, while he was also competent at the back.

Bruno Alves 6.5
- Atletico's chances were limited and he could have been on a winning team had his keeper not taken his eye off the ball.

Rolando 6.5
- Will have been disappointed to have seen the first goal scored quite so easily, but helped limit the hosts to any more simple chances.

Fernando 6
- Looked much more comfortable on the ball than his opposite numbers at the other end, but will have sympathy with his keeper.

Raul Meireles  6.5 - Put himself about and Porto can thank him for breaking up the play and keeping Atletico's front men quiet on a number of occasions.

Lucho 6.5 - Was not seen enough as perhaps he should have been when he is clearly the player that creates the majority of the good things Porto do.

Rodriguez 7 - Very strong and his running cause Atletico's defenders problems down the wings on numerous occasions and they constantly had to watch him.

Lisandro 8 - Two goals and chances to score more meant that he could no more than he did as a striker for an away team in the Champions League.

Hulk 6.5 - Spent quite a lot of time on the floor having either committed a foul or having been fouled, but he also showed some good touches.

Subs

Pedro Emanuel 5.5 - Slotted in seamlessly and did well enough at a time when the game was already slowing down.

Sektioui 5 - Porto left their changes until late and he did not have much time to have any great effect on the encounter.

Tomas Costa 5
- The same goes for the last of the visitors changes and he will just have been pleased to be given a run.
