Roma have taken Udinese right-back Marco Motta on loan for the remainder of the season with the intention of buying him outright at the end of the campaign.
After signing Souleymane Diamoutene from Lecce yesterday, the Giallorossi have added further defensive reinforcement to their squad in the form of the Italy U-21 international.
At the end of the six month loan spell, Roma will pay Udinese approximately €7 million in three installments for the 22-year-old.
After the long-term injury of Marco Cassetti, coach Luciano Spalletti was hopeful of reinforcements and he has gotten them. Both Diamoutene and Motta have been included in the Champions League squad for the rest of the season.
Meanwhile, striker Stefano Okaka will likely be on his way to Triestina before the end of the transfer window. Also, defender Christian Panucci looks set to stay with the club until his contract expires this summer.
