Pereiro netted two in his first PSV start as they beat Ajax 2-1 in the Amsterdam Arena to pull them to within two points of Frank de Boer's leaders.
The 20-year-old is following in the footsteps of former Groningen and Ajax attacker Suarez, who starred in the Eredivisie before moving on to Liverpool and then Barca.
And Pereiro has revealed he has spoken to the 28-year-old and feels he can learn from him.
"I talk with Suarez. He is a great example for me," Pereiro told reporters after the match. "I'm very happy for him that he is doing so well at Barcelona. For me it is great to have his support.
"I am well taken care of at PSV, but it has been hard without my family in Uruguay.
"I have always had support from others. I've always had companionship and support, from the other South American players, but from our team manager too."
