Eredivisie outfit Willem II have signed Den Bosch goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa on a free transfer. The Finnish shot stopper's current Den Bosch deal expires at the end of the season and he will leave the club on a Bosman.
The 24-year-old joined Den Bosch from French outfit Racing Club Lens in 2006. He lost his spot in the starting XI at the Eerstedivisie side this season due to a shoulder injury. The goalie had previously made 64 league appearances for Den Bosch in his career.
Maenpaa, who was recently called up for the Finnish national team, has signed a two-year deal at the Tilburg outfit.
Willem II will most likely use the shot-stopper as back-up for first choice custodian, Maikel Aerts. Current reserve, Oscar Moens, recently turned 35-years-old and is expected to retire at the end of the season.
