After a lengthy discussion on both our Goal.com forums and in article comments, we at Goal.com put together an eight-man shortlist for the title of world's best free-kick taker.
With such heavyweights as Nakamura, Juninho, Ronaldo and Riquelme in the runnings, it was always going to be a tense occasion as a week of voting got underway.
But in the end it was Juventus hero Alessandro Del Piero who won the competition, picking up almost a third of the overall vote.
Celtic and Japan midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura finished second, while Lyon's Brazilian ace Juninho Pernambucano picked up the bronze.
The results in full:
29.70% Alessandro Del Piero
