Points Deduction For Dinamo Zagreb In Europa League

The Croatian champions have been slapped with a three point deduction...

UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body has announced that reigning Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb must play their next two home matches in the UEFA Europa League behind closed doors. Additionally, they have also deducted three points from the Zagreb's points tally in Group A.

The decision follows serious crowd disturbances at the Europa League match between Romanian side Timisoara and Dinamo Zagreb on October 1. Zagreb won the away game 3-0.

The two home matches to be played behind closed doors are against Dutch powerhouse Ajax on 5 November and Timisoara on December 17. The three-point deduction is effective immediately.

This decision may be appealed against within three days of the club receiving the written report.

Dinamo Zagreb now drop to last spot in the table in Group A. They now have zero points from three games and trail table toppers Anderlecht by five points.
