South African Striker Davide Somma - I Want To Destroy The USA

New Bafana Bafana striker Davide Somma says he wants to score against the USA, his adopted country, in tomorrow's Nelson Mandela Challenge in Cape Town.
Speaking at a press conference in Cape Town this morning, the Leeds United forward had this to say, "I want to score goals, that is what feels good for me. I want to destroy them (the USA)," he said with a big smile.

"I wanted to play for them, but nothing ever happened so I just want to do it against them tomorrow."

Despite growing up in America, Somma said he doesn't know too much about coach Bob Bradley's team. By his own admission he only played at the top level with San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS for six months.

"I don't know too much about the USA team … I know they are very fit. But I think we should beat them as we have a lot of skilful players here," Somma said.

Asked about his new teammates within the South African national squad, Somma said, "The guys are great. It's a different level to club football and everything happened so fast so I am just trying to get into it."

As a closing comment, Somma said he doesn't want to "try and do too much" in his first opportunity to play international football.
