Abdullahi, who played for Finnish club FC Haka last season, arrived in the country about a month ago for trials with Usuthu and has impressed the club’s technical team enough to win a two-year contract.
Confirming their new signing to KickOff.com, Tovey spoke highly of the 25-year-old Lagos-born midfielder.
“He has good left foot and delivers good crosses. He is versatile, but he is going to give us more strength on the left side of midfield.”
Abdullahi is set to miss the MTN 8 first leg semifinal game against Golden Arrows at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday as Usuthu are still waiting for his international clearance.
