Bloemfontein Celtic Win Mangaung Cup

Bloemfontein Celtic won the Mangaung Cup on Sunday with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over a stubborn Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The match started at a slow pace, with both teams struggling to find a rhythm. However, Celtic broke the deadlock as early as the 11th minute, after Aces failed to deal with a cross from Billy Ratsoana.

The ball fell to the feet of Petrus Mahlatsi, who hit home to make it 1-0 to the Bloemfontein side. The game was evenly-contested at this stage, and could have gone either way.

Aces equalised in the 35th minute, when Prince Olomu lost control of the ball in the box. The loose ball was snapped up by Chibuzor Noogdu, who made it 1-1.

Ten minutes later, on the stroke of half-time, Noogdu struck again, giving the Premier Soccer League rookies the lead going into the break. In the second half Aces began attacking from all angles but Patrick Tignyemb made several breathtaking saves to keep Celtic in the game.

Phunya Sele Sele equalised in the 73rd, when Ratsoana dealt another wonderful cross in to the box, which was met by Darrell Smith and headed into the back of the net.

His goal brought Celtic back into the game, and ten minutes from time he took Celtic into the lead, rising high in the box to head a Moses Spandeel cross home and hand his team a 3-2 victory.
