Felix Obada Joins Maritzburg United

Thanda Royal Zulu winger Felix Obada, arguably the best player at the club last season, has left the relegated side to join fellow KwaZulu Natal outfit Maritzburg United.
Obada has signed a two-year contract with Maritzburg after undergoing a medical on Friday morning.

“I have signed a two-year deal,” revealed the Nigerian winger to Kickoff.com.

"It has always been my desire to continue playing in the PSL (Premier Soccer League) because this is the league where I can get the kind of exposure that I need. I am happy that I will be able to continue in the PSL. I want to keep on working hard so that I get to deliver and help the team to better things.

“I know that I was still under contract at Thanda for another two years and I have no idea about the transaction that took place between the two clubs. What I am concerned and thrilled about is that I have sealed a move to club that is in the PSL.”

KickOff.com revealed that Maritzburg arranged for a special transfer with Thanda who have already stated that they will not be holding onto players who desire to move on.

The Nigerian winger was brought to Thanda by deposed coach Roger Palmgren at the beginning of last year and has proven to be a gem on the right wing.

Thanda have trimmed down with Nkosinathi Nhleko, July Mahlangu, Tonic Chabalala, Sibusiso Hadebe, Katleho Loke and James Madidilani having already all left for PSL clubs.
