Egyptian giants Zamalek have commenced a legal case against former striker Hussein Yasser over his contentious transfer to Lierse.
The White Knights maintain that they have a contract with the Qatar international until 2014, and that his new two-year deal with the Belgian club remains invalid.
“We hired a Spanish lawyer for the case of Hussein Yasser’s illegal move to Lierse,” Zamalek board member Maher Abdul-Aziz said, according to FilGoal.com. “We will present all the documents proving our right in the player to him and then he shall file a complaint to Fifa through the Egyptian FA.”
The Cairo-based club has since confiscated the International Transfer Certificate of the 29-year-old, making it impossible for Lierse to feature him until the situation is resolved.
