Kareem Kazeem Joins Gil Vicente

Nigerian international Kareem Kazeem has signed a one-year loan-deal with second division Portuguese league outfit Gil Vicente.
The former Fulham player was unveiled to the fans of the Portuguese club side on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaking to KickoffNigeria.com, the player stated that he was pleased to have signed with a club that would see him play regularly.

"It is not good for the career of any serious player just to sit on the bench of a so called big club without playing regularly. This invariably cost me a shirt while trying out with the Olympic team," Kareem told the website.

"Despite putting everything I had into training, Siasia still favoured the players that were visible for their club sides then.

"So, I am happy joining Gil Vicente because I have been assured of regular action week in, week out. The deal was finalised between my club, Sporting Braga and Gil on Saturday morning so I couldn't go straight into Gil's squad that won their first home game 2-1 against Feirense on Saturday. "

"I am very sure and determined to play a good match this weekend when I will feature for Gil in my first league match for the team. The important thing is for me to be playing regularly. I hope I will do the same as last season when I helped Trofense to gain promotion to the top division in Portugal," Kareem added.
