Lukasz Piszczek suspended from Poland national team for six months - report

The 26-year-old Borussia Dortmund defender faces a six-month ban from national team affairs
Borussia Dortmund full-back Lukasz Piszczek has been slapped with a six-month ban from the Poland national team, according to a report in German publication Revier Sport.

The suspension was handed to the player by a disciplinary committee in the Polish Football Association for his part in a corruption scandal.

Piszczek has 14 days to appeal the decision although he is reportedly willing to accept and serve the entire ban.

The right-back, who can also operate on the right-wing, joined Dortmund in 2010. Following some excellent performances in defence, he was rewarded with a new long-term contract, tying his future to the Bundesliga giants until 2016.
