Hungarian league champions Debrecen have appointed Zdenek Scasny as their new coach on a two-year deal.

The 53-year-old led Sparta Prague to two Czech titles in the late 1990s and comes in at Debrecen with the club eight points behind leaders Videoton in the Hungarian First League.

Scasny replaces Andras Herczeg, who guided Debrecen to two successive league titles but struggled to maintain the momentum this campaign, with the Hungarian side also having dropped out of the Europa League from the group stage.
