Ajax have snapped up defender Andre Ooijer on a free transfer, the club revealed on their official website on Monday.
The 36-year-old centre-back signed a one-year deal that will expire in June 2011 with the Eredivisie giants. The player featured in the youth sector at the club back in the mid-1990's, before moving on to Volendam, Roda JC, spending a majority of his career with PSV, before plying his trade with Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League.
He returned to Eindhoven in 2009 and his form earned him a place in Holland coach Bert van Marwijk's World Cup squad, and he featured in the 2-1 win over Brazil in the quarter-finals in South Africa.
He has a full trophy cabinet, having won several titles in Holland including the Eredivisie, KNVB Beker, and Johan Cruyff Shield.
